Annie Moses Band
Roots • Classical • Family Legacy
The story of the Annie Moses Band begins not on a stage, but in a cotton field in North Texas during the Great Depression. There, their great-grandmother Annie Moses picked cotton and saved every penny to pay for a few piano lessons for her daughter, Jane. That act of sacrifice became the seed of a multigenerational musical journey.
A Legacy of Sacrifice & Song
- Jane — took her mother’s gift and passed it on, ensuring her daughter Robin could study piano at Oklahoma City University.
- Robin — met and married Bill, a jazz musician with a love for chord progressions and arranging. Together they composed many songs, including “Make His Praise Glorious”, a hit for Sandi Patti.
- While Sandi sang “praise the Lord with strings”, the next generation of the family was already practicing that calling — literally, on their instruments.
From Juilliard to the Annie Moses Band
Raised with rigorous musical training, the family pursued excellence that ultimately led them to the Juilliard School. In 2002, they faced a crossroads: continue down the classical path or forge their own? They chose the latter, birthing the Annie Moses Band — a unique fusion of roots music, classical polish, and family harmony.
