Ambrosia
Ambrosia
Progressive Rock Innovators • Soft Rock Hitmakers
Ambrosia is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1970. Originally emerging as a progressive art-rock group, they evolved into one of the most successful soft-rock and blue-eyed soul acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Known for their impeccable musicianship and genre-bending versatility, Ambrosia bridged the gap between complex progressive arrangements and radio-ready pop hooks.
Classic Hits
- “How Much I Feel” — a soulful ballad that became one of their signature Top 40 hits.
- “Biggest Part of Me” — a smooth soft-rock anthem that remains a fan favorite.
- “You’re the Only Woman (You & I)” — another timeless chart-topper from their catalog.
Formation & Evolution
Co-founded by David Pack (vocals/guitar) and Joe Puerta (bass/vocals), Ambrosia built a sound that pulled from The Beach Boys’ harmonies to King Crimson’s prog-rock complexity. Their early albums showcased adventurous arrangements and collaborations, including work with famed novelist Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and legendary engineer/producer Alan Parsons.
Enduring Legacy
After achieving commercial success through the 1970s and early 80s, Ambrosia reunited in 1989 and has continued to tour ever since. Today, they bring their diverse catalog of prog-rock, soft-rock, and soul-infused classics to audiences across the country, proving the timelessness of their music and the lasting power of their harmonies.
From complex progressive beginnings to radio gold, Ambrosia remains a beloved and influential force in American rock history.
