Andy Griggs

Soulful Country • Storyteller • Survivor

Andy Griggs often describes his musical influences as a pot of gumbo — stirred with Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Swaggert, Waylon Jennings, Bill Monroe, hardcore blues, rock ’n’ roll, and even a touch of jazz. For Andy, music has never been about genre or labels. As he says: “There is no defining a style of song. As long as there’s soul, it has a place in music.”

Early Life & Heartbreak

Raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Andy’s life was marked by deep loss at a young age. His father, a church praise and worship leader, died from a brain tumor when Andy was just 11. His older brother Mason — his hero and musical inspiration — carried the torch until his untimely passing at 21 from heart complications. Griggs recalls: “When I jumped into the pool of music, I jumped into the deep end and never came out.”

Breakthrough & Chart Success

After years performing with the bluegrass gospel group Jerry and Tammy Sullivan, Andy moved to Nashville in 1995. He soon signed with RCA Records and exploded onto the country scene with his debut single, “You Won’t Ever Be Lonely.” His career soared with:

Songs like “She’s More” and “If Heaven” helped cement Andy as a radio and fan favorite, blending his heartfelt vocals with powerful storytelling.

A Musical Awakening

Despite the success, Andy felt something was missing. He admits his music was reaching “99% of his heart and soul”, but not quite all of it. That realization sparked a personal and artistic awakening:

“You don’t come to this town and TRY to fit a certain mold. You don’t TRY to fit a certain style. You don’t TRY to sing your heart out. You either DO or you DON’T.”

Determined to be authentic, Andy began writing most of his own songs and producing his own music. By trusting his instincts and leaning into raw emotion, he discovered the missing piece of his artistry.

The Real Andy Griggs

Today, Andy Griggs stands as a complete artist — no longer chasing a mold, but embracing the truth in his voice and songs. His performances are deeply personal, soul-baring experiences that reflect his journey of pain, perseverance, and passion.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the new, improved, and REAL Andy Griggs.
