Early Discovery & Jazz Roots
In 1962, Bob was discovered by Quincy Jones at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival, launching a career that would span classical, jazz, funk, and pop. By the 1970s, he became a cornerstone artist at Creed Taylor’s CTI label, where he developed a groundbreaking fusion of jazz with classical structures and funk rhythms.
