Andrew Duhon

Andrew Duhon is a Louisiana-born troubadour whose songs carry the weight of honesty, heartache, and hope—music that feels less like entertainment and more like a conversation with the soul. For nearly two decades, Duhon has traveled America’s highways, guitar in hand, connecting with strangers-turned-friends from Beaumont, TX to Bellingham, WA. His music is about more than telling his story—it’s about reflecting ours.
His new album, The Parish Record, is a love letter to Louisiana: its beauty, its contradictions, and its singular culture. Recorded at Dockside Studios in Maurice, LA, surrounded by cypress trees and Cajun country stillness, Duhon worked with his trusted trio—Myles Weeks (bass), Jim Kolacek (drums), and Daniel Walker (keys)—under the steady hand of engineer Justin Tockett. The result is a record that feels like home: raw, soulful, and steeped in the sounds of the bayou.
The Parish Record brims with evocative storytelling. The biting political commentary of “Waco Kool Aid” and “Shotgun Religion” collide with tender ballads like “Hand Me Down Love,” “Girl From Plaquemine,” “Almost Forever,” and the heartbreaking farewell of “Just In Case.” The centerpiece, “Another House,” strips it down to just Duhon and his guitar, chronicling his mother’s dementia with devastating honesty. Elsewhere, “Man on the Marquee” channels the bittersweet monotony of the road, while “Bayou La Batre” (a rare cover) feels tailor-made for his journey home.
Through every track, Duhon blends folk, blues, country, and Cajun influences into something uniquely his own, carrying the character of New Orleans wherever the road takes him. With The Parish Record, he reminds us that songs are more than melodies—they are lifelines, talismans, and shared truths passed between strangers in search of connection.
Andrew Duhon is more than a songwriter—he is a storyteller of the American landscape, a poet of the bayou, and a voice for anyone who has ever longed for home while chasing the horizon.
